Answer: Snoopy made his debut in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1968 and has been a crowd favorite ever since. The world's most popular beagle is no stranger to the parade. This year will mark Snoopy's 43rd appearance, the most of any other character. Snoopy has taken flight over New York City off and on since his parade debut. This year, he continued his reign as the most-featured balloon, by appearing as an astronaut. This years balloon design honors the tradition of the character's strong connection to NASA and the Apollo missions.

US Route 66 was one of the original highways of the American road system. It dates back to November 11, 1926, when the name was officially approved by the Bureau of Public Roads, and traffic signals were erected the following year. Route 66 soon became one of the most famous roads in the United States. It ran from Chicago to Los Angeles, covering a total of 2,448 miles. It was recognized in popular culture by both the 1946 hit song "(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66" and the Route 66 television series, which aired on CBS from 1960 to 1964.
(That was with Martin Milner, pre-Adam 12, right?)
