They absolutely should have listened to you sooner.
It's kind of weird how quickly a knuckle or finger can change. I had a change in one of my fingers last month. It was normal, then it wasn't. Weird.
It would definitely be scary to take a chance on not being able to get home.
The bottles of water are an excellent idea.

It has been so light tonight that it looks like daylight on the road. I can see everything clearly. Usually it's just pitch black. Ds was on the hwy, coming back from a job in Lake County when the moon came up, and said that it looked huge! I was sorry to have missed that.
