Same here at the Dollar Store, though, as you say, it's not a dollar anymore. They had paper at the warehouse, but it was a bit more than the Dollar Store's paper.
I guess that we have to adjust to the kids' schedules. I know that I've had to, as well.
When we were growing up, my paternal grandparents would have us over on Christmas Eve, and we'd open the 'fun' gifts...toys...at their house. My grandmother wanted to be there when we opened them, and I can see that, more and more. They did come to Christmas dinner in the afternoon on Christmas Day, but we opened our gifts in the morning, before they arrived. So it sounds like a mother-of-grown-children/grandmother thing.
