Answer: South Dakota is the only state whose capital city, Pierre, does not share any of the same letters with the name of the state. The population of Pierre, South Dakota, was 14,091 at the 2020 census, making it the second least-populous state capital after Montpelier, Vermont. Founded in 1880, Pierre has been the state capital since South Dakota gained statehood on November 2, 1889. It was chosen for its location in the geographic center of the state. Pierre was named after Pierre Chouteau, Jr., a prominent fur trader, and entrepreneur.

Jackson Pollock was an influential American painter, and the leading force behind the abstract expressionist movement in the art world. He was widely noticed for his "drip technique" of pouring or splashing liquid household paint onto a horizontal surface, enabling him to view and paint his canvases from all angles. It was called action painting, since he covered the entire canvas and used the force of his whole body to paint. In 2016, Pollock's painting titled Number 17A was reported to have fetched $200 million in a private purchase.
