I still can't have a shower very often. So I will emulate my favorite artwork by Mary Cassett - It is titled the Toilette and is a woman from 1900 leaning over a small sink with the top of her dress resting on her hips as she washed. I love this Piece. I have one in MN but I will probably buy another one for My Bathroom.
I had hoped to get a tank cover for my new tank. Boy will put up a shed along with the other chores he has not gotten to eventually. Luckily it is easy to turn my well off, drain it and the house pipes. But like I said before I have tons of well water in big jugs. LOL And my bottles water I am now buying from Kroger. Wih every order I buy one 24 pack of h2o. So far I am fine.
Good news the kittens all have new homes. But I feel so bad about the Mama cat.
I have gone nuts trying to find all my sewing materials and needles, etc. Most is in MN in storage. Luckily I had a huge Kingsized stuffed Quilt that I cut in half and am heming closed. One is for DD's bed the the other half is on my bed. Charlie when it is cold will snuggle under my blankets. He hair is so thin. Poor Puppy!
Anyway I am so glad I bought those felt electric blankets. They really keep my warmth between my blankets. Instead of sleeping on sheets which are so cold all the time. I don't have to plug in my electric blanket at all. Besides, Charlie heats me up when he snuggles ROFLOL!
Oh I am cooking lke crazy. I bougth 4 large Russet poatoes. I love russets... 1 I nuked, loaded with butter, etc. YUM. This morning I nuked the smallest one - NOT really small. Then skinned and diced then fried in butter. Which I then added more butter to along with Rosemary, Thyme, S&P and fried 4 small chicken breast strips in. I am making huge veggie salads for lunches - I will add some diced chicken breast to todays salad. I dice Romaine and head lettuce, add romas, green onions, add corn off the cob - sometimes I nuke 1/2 an ear first then add it. I add poppy seed, All types of herbs - an Italian mix Basil, etc. Herbs De Provence - French, Rosemary, Thyme, garlic, & lemon zest. etc. Tarragon, chives, parsley and dill or basil I love changing up the flavors.
If I have the salad for dinner then I will have half of the veggie thin crust pizza. I try to eat lighter at night.
Lets see.... Plum congrats on the new batteries. I can't wait till you get a couple more. What a relief they must be for you.
Quilts are the savior for Chance, and his little heater. Lots of time he doesn't stand next to it at all. I have a thick single layer Felt blanket that I fold in half so it keeps his warmth fromhis heater in his cage. He lived through a couple of the 4 hours with no power and did ok. He fluffed up and I added another quilt of his cage. I was thinking of bring him in to my bedroom but I rally don't have the room and he prefers to be able to see me working around the house.
Also he has begun to sing like one of the birds. Amazing and he now can make cat noises like Kitty and even Soli. He also has picked up words I think from the radio. Now thats weird. 8-) I thought he might pick up Charlies name as I use it alot.
Luckily I remembered to stock up on clothes line this summer. I find so many reasons for using it. I do not take out my air conditioner as it is a stand alone. But Now that its getting colder I wrap one of my heavy towels around the large tubing and tie it off with clothesline. I also have to take a beach blanket and block off the bottom of the window that needs to be insulated to keep the living room warmer. Luckily that window faces Southeast. And gets most of the sun during the day.
My bedroom faces west so I have mutiple drapes over my bedroom windows, they work.
I can shut off DD's bedroom window. And the library window faces SOUTH so it gets any warmth there is from the sun.
I also put plastic trash bags over the AC's and that really helps keep the wind out.
After 7 years I have all the problems figuered out. LOL.
But next year - I will be buying a new bigger stand alone heater for the living room. The current one will go in my bedroom.
I also need to replace some small heaters for DD's room. With the window and door shut it stays pretty warm then I open the door and it helps warm the hallway.
What a mess. Oh I found Kitty - who has been living in the library and sleeping on top of a small pillow. She and Soli have moved into DD's bedroom - warmer since I closed off the ac. THey have split DD's bed - half to one the other to Soli. LOL
Well, I need to walk Charlie now it's 50 out with humidity at 86% and a light breeze. I still wear layers of clothes. If I don't I freeze.
Well, good luck. I hope you enjoy your batteries and that you find a way to stay warmer. Cold is not a good thing.
Take care all of you. And the critters as well.
