I didn't know that Kara and Randy had set up an array. Good for them, most people that have gone to it really like it.
Our big generator, which charges our batteries, is a 7,000 watt Honda, and the batteries, which were so great before the generator began having problems, are a marine type deep cycle battery...L something.
Our very first one was a single battery used directly in the house 30 years ago with a drop cord. We didn't have an inverter then, we just bought a special DC light bulb, and had a light in the evening/at night. In those days, one was less than $100. They stayed at that price for years until recently, when they went waaay up.
Eventually, we got a battery bank with a generator that would charge it, and the rest is history. We saved money, had power, and back-up power.
I keep praying for an easy fix, and affordable one.
How sweet of you to even think that! I don't think that there's anything that you can do, but just offering was so nice!
Yes. I decided to write a physical note to you, which was my mistake, as it's still sitting here in a bag for Ds to take out and mail for me.
The short answers are, yes (nothing broke, great packing!), and Kara has *tons* of talent! That is exactly what I'll use the tumbler for. I so appreciate her giving me one!
While we're thinking about this, would you mind giving me a list of your ingredients for the curd? I *love* curd!
As for the jam, wow! Really tasty, and my favorite flavor, but also made with huge berries! Our berries are wild, and much smaller! The neighbors have an older cultivated variety that's about 2ce as large as ours, and they are still much smaller than yours!
I had made muffins for Christmas morning, and put them in the freezer. (thankfully, because cooking is a huge problem right now. The gen. won't come anywhere close to it's capacity right now. It's a 7,000, yet it can't take a small, one item draw right now. No pan, even under 1,000 watts, etc.) My plan is blackberry jam or lemon curd on them!
Thank you so much! I'm sorry that I'm back in the position not to mail anything at the moment. That's the kind of thing that stresses me out.
Thanks again!
