Answer: At the onset of World War II, Julia Child joined the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the forerunner to the CIA. Following the war, she married Paul Child, whom she had met while working for the OSS in India. In 1948, the couple was posted to Paris for Paul's work. While there, Child began taking cooking lessons at one of the most prestigious culinary schools in the world, Le Cordon Bleu. Julia Child would go on to revolutionize American cuisine through her French cooking school, award-winning cookbooks, and world-renowned television programs.
