Anyway back to the deer - I never saw him - as it must have had antlers. They haven't been around a often lately. Hopefully they will come around again. It's too Charlie quiet with them gone. "Right." 8-)
House thing.... I discovered on my own that one of the sockets in the wall socket for the washer and dryer is burnt out. Guess I need a new one. Wait I never checked the fuse... will there is power but the washer isn't working properly. The tank barely moves. There is water in the washer somewhere... so I guess I need a new one. I couldn't get water to fill the tank. I tried but nada.
Oh well. I do have my Shaker Hand Crank washer. Nothing larger then a pair of jeans and only one pair at a time. But it's good exercise. I may have to ask to use my neighbors washer for the blankets, etc. Once W is recovered and back to work.
I can live with things the way they are. I have bed changes so no problem there. Besides these changes to my living style are typical of my life.
Lets see what else? I fixed a geat chicken dinner last night. I had bought a 3 halves chicken breasts. I added to the melted butter some of my
Herbs De Provence - my fave after Rosemary Sage & Thyme, Garlic and others. Let the herbs simmer a bit. Laid the chicken breast into the the butter and sprinkled with S & cracked pepper & a touch of garlic.
I also had some new poatoes, peeled and then sliced. Added them to the pan and tossed in some white cooking wine. Plus a bit of Lemon juice.
Also I had some small biscuits also with herbs.
Removed chicken when done and added some green peans to the pan and let potatoes and peas finish cooking. Very good & enough leftovers of all for lunch!
Re my new Diabetic Meter system. I called last week but the Pharacy was closed and not open on the weekend. So I called yesterday morning after all the pet care was taken care of and I had my breakfast. I figured it would take a while. How about 2 1/2 hrs. SIGH!
Anyway... the box arrived and I opened to find a load of the wrong strips - the ones the drop of blood goes on to be read.
It took until the 19th for the system to arrive. I had to talk with 4 people until I was connected to a Pharmacist. After the first 1/2 hr we were both laughing. The instructions in the box were for the wrong meter. Plus they were so tiny I couldn't even read them. She ended up having to wak me through the new system a step at a time for me to write them down. Plus they had the wrong strips in this box as well. ROFLOL!!!
She is sending me a postage paid label for the strips that were shipped with the unit. Those I can return.
But they are the same as the ones my old unit used. I could return them to my DR's office for them to use. But I may just keep them for back up.
The new strips won't arrive till next week or later. This pharmacy is SLOOOOOOW delivery. It is a new pharmacy that is part of Humana. From whom I used to received my RX's and supplies within 3 days at most.
The transportation by Humana is also messed up. As
the new company was 2 hours late picking me up for my appointment and then when I was to go home they refused to pick me up and take me home. Luckly the Dr's office manager was there and she drove me home. I contacted Humana and gave them what for.
Plus I received - on my birthday - the referral for the Neurosurgen. I have never seen such a confusing. Most of the appointments were for Nov and the 1st 2 weeks of Dec. WHAT????
Since I was dealing with the ER over that period I haven't even bothered to call the Neuro. Oh and the ER failed to contact my dr with the er vist info. Lordy, what a mess. Plus it took 4 trips to the ER to finally have a DR that knew what he was doing and listened to me re my neck. I kept having the same Cat Scan done of my head and I kept telling them It's my neck. Thank goodness for the last Dr. He was older and actually listened to me. Plus my neighbor kept taking for me and they listened to her not me I was so furious.
Anyway it has been identifed that I have arthritis on the neck, it's severe of course. But I can live with it. The one funny thing that has come of it resulted in my taking my pain pill, which works really well, before I went to play dominos. I had only been on them and at home when I was so didn't know what effect they had on me. Until I realized how wacked I was after I walked home. OMG! How embarrassingly funny, sorta. 8-)
Well I think this is enough of my fun times from the past week or so. At least the flood in my driveway was caused by all A's well pipes bursting due to the 21 degree freeze. It his plumber 5 hrs to fix the problem. Poor guy.
Well, I need to have a "small" snack. I have some left over chicken, potatoes and peas from dinner. Perfect.
I seem to be gaining weight, YEA! And eating very well.
Anyway have a good day and rest of your week. The rain has stopped for a few minutes but lost still on its way here. OK by me.
