Someone said that every family has a recipe good enough to sell, or put on a menu somewhere. They asked that everyone think about their own family, and come up with that recipe in their family.
I thought and thought, and realized that there were a lot delicious dishes that people made in my family. Really good. But would any be good enough to sell, or be on a restaurant menu?
I broke it into 3 recipes. One of my mother's, and one for each grandmother.
I'm convinced that people would order, and enjoy, my mother's lasagna on a menu.
My paternal grandmother made a Swiss steak that I think would be very popular.
And, my maternal grandmother's pies, any one of them, would sell out quickly, I think.
That was not easy, as all 3 made many great dishes. I also realized that it's not always about full meals, either. A certain pickle, or a vegetable side, could also apply.
How about you?
