We all know my weather this week, cold with fog and snow one day. 2 afternoons were really sunny and warm, while the rest were gloomy and chilly.
Next week we have rain chances one day, and snow for 3 or 4 days, so we will most likely get some.
The weeds have been very happy after all that rain. Us about the weeds, not so much. Dh has been on it, but I'm never sure who will win the battle.
Dh woke up one morning with a severe tooth pain out of nowhere. This tooth has never hurt before, but it's severe. He's been put on antibiotics, and has an appt. next Wednesday in the morning.
I've never seen anyone get as sick with teeth as Dh, and that's always been the case with him. This time his sinuses are involved, he can only eat soft food about once a day, he has a fever, and is lethargic - from the antibiotics, I think. His Dr. wants a new echocardiogram, but it will have to wait until this is taken care of now. The echo is just to keep up on how his heart issue looks, which he does annually.
I'm not coming out from under my pile of covers very much, so not much is getting done between Dh's tooth and the cold.
The kids sent me a painted rock for Valentine's Day. They let Thyri paint the flattish river rock in two colors, then ddil painted a black edging into a heart shape. Then, she painted everything outside of the edging a third color. What happened was that I got a rock with a different color of heart in the middle. I think it's great that she involved Thyri.
I had planned a simple but tasty dinner for Valentine's Day, with a dessert that I thought sounded good, but when Dh couldn't eat, I scrapped it.
We found some change last week that was from the other house. Mostly dimes and nickels. I was going to put it in my 'piggy bank' - actually a great container that epsom salts came in that I wanted to put to some use - but have decided to roll them instead. So, as soon as I get rollers, since mine are the wrong size, I will roll them during the warmest part of the day. That's my project this weekend.
Oh, and I'm starting a new mini-scrapbook of dino photos. There's a gas station in town that has a plastic dinosaur out in front of their place. It's been there for a few years now. And, I learned that they decorate him for holidays, such as halloween, which I missed.
For Valentine's Day, they stuck hearts all over him, so I asked Ds if they would take photos of Thyri with him. They did, and she even wore a shirt with a dino skeleton and hearts on it!
I'm going to see if I can get photos of her for all holidays that he's decorated for, and put them in a little scrapbook. Then, maybe in the future to see how much she's grown. Maybe on her birthday, since she has one coming right up, 4 days before mine. If I can get these photos, I'll have fun with it.
One of our chickens laid the largest egg I've seen in all these years. It looked like a duck egg! It turned out to be an egg within' an egg, without the shell on the inside one, so there were 2 yolks. Really interesting, and odd!
On our warmest afternoon, when it was sunny, we saw butterflies. Currently we have the large ones with black, yellow, and orange on them, and Viceroy's, which look like Monarchs. I was surprised to see one on our window screen outside. I hope that they didn't come out of hibernation too soon, as there's still cold weather.
Well, mostly I'm hibernating and planning, and hoping that it will warm up reasonably soon.
