The lake hasn't caught up on water, so any water related companies are still loosing money.
The bars are making money for all the folks who fish, boat, ski, etc are mostly there. This is a retirement society so hanging out in the bars is very common.
A few of the McMansions - very expensive homes recently built - are already going up for sale.
Even my hummers disappeared 2 days ago. I haven't seen them at all.I am hoping they are feeding off all the wild flowers that have popped up with the latest rains.
My leafless bushes and trees are leafing out like crazy. Thing is I haven't seen hardly any of the normal critters that have been missing for over two years. No bees, no ants, yet! Butterflies, lots of birds of course. No creepy bugs and other insects that are usually out in weather like we are having.
But this is not normal for mid march. All the above began to grow and leaf out on March 1st. Way too early.
The storms used to be deluges in early April. We have 80s both higher and lower, all month so far. Weird weather. People are walking around in shorts and tees and other light weight clothes. Rain storms are at night and every day there is drizzle. Thunder storms are every other or few days. Mostly once or twice overnight on a weekly basis.
Oh an the black cat is now living under my house. Plus there is a Siamese cat hanging out in my neighbors yard. Charlie discovered it.
Charlie is doing great no more limping and he is jumping up on my bed with no problem. My neighbors are amazed at how quiet he has gotten. He barks rarely. He alerts at delivery trucks, people walking up or down our hill. Even then he barks a few times then stares out the window at them.
If he is outside he stands next to the fence that is along the road on the library end of the house.
When we go outside to hang clothers, walk, play ball - he now edns up standing in corner of the fence staring downhill. His nose is going like crazy but he will stand there for a long time. I really have to walk over to hm and physically urge him to go inside. Really weird. Plus he does the same thing when we are in the front of the house and he stands in the corner by the road next to A's yard and the road. Again I have to climb atop the retaining wall to urge him home. Totally bizarre.
The deer have only been around sporadically. They were always in A's yard since we moved in. Charlie keeps looking for them but no shows.
At least Charlie and A's Flinn the golden poodle have a connction. Flin barks like mad when he hears Charlie outside. They both bark like crazy. Flinn always comes to me if I am by the fence and sniffs my hand. I think he only does it cause he can smell Charlie. 8-)
The tall grasses are higher every day. I will have to use my weed wacker to take down the tallest reeds and grasses. My push mower works fine with a typical yard lawn. But my yard is anything but normal. Rocks, fossilss, dirt and when wet lots and lots of mud in the back.
The fact that I haven't been able to wash down the siding that has mould on it, is a big deal. There was no way to do anything like that for the past 2 years. I hope with my 5% patches I will be able to clean the mould off as soon as the sun is out all day. Doing it in the morning is best.
Well, I need to have my strawberries and english muffin for breakfast. It is still gray outside. UGH!!!
