We had quite a bit of rain this week, and cold. But, it's not raining now, it's just cold. We aren't supposed to get a lot of rain next week, but a chance most days. And, most nights will be in the 20's or 30's.
Our week was spent 'dealing with stuff' such as the dog, tools - which Ds is storing here, phone, internet, and so forth. Aside from the dog, I am fairly well caught up on everything that I started this week.
I finally got a little reading done, which was nice, and have been playing my games on my tablet/reader. That's where my word games are, and generally, unless I get stumped, they are relaxing.
Everyone seems to be in limbo. Dh is still trying to heal from his dental work, Ds is cutting back on an important medication to change to another, and Thyri is waiting to start a new day care. The great people who ran the other one are older, and the wife has health problems, so they closed. This new one is in town, which is not as nice as having a large yard to play in part of the time, but it can't be helped. The people running this one are about Ds and ddil's age. They take a max of 8 children, which includes their own 2, and it's for 2-4 year olds. Being that she just turned 3, 3 weeks ago, she's the perfect age.
The reason that they are anxious to have her back in once or twice a week, is that she seems to be suffering from lack of socialization with other children. She's become a little shy around adults, but will wave and talk to most of them. She is not wanting to interact with children like she used to, on the other hand, which is a big change. She does, however, still ask about the children that were in her other day care.
In one of the boxes from the old house I found Scotch tape, glue sticks, and other small items that I've needed, but couldn't find. Whew! You never think about white out, glue, or tape until you don't have them!
Some of the tools that Ds got from ddil's relative, are exactly what we'll need to finish the house. I can't even begin to tell you what all's there, it's mind boggling, but even dry wall tools, etc. are there.
All of the rain that we've been having has made it a terrible tick year. Dh was bitten this week, on the leg. He had *just* been bitten, which is better, but didn't make him all that happy anyway. Dandy is a tick magnet, whereas Uhura is never bitten. However, they can still be walking on her fur when she comes in, so we're back to the tick protocol of combing as soon as she comes in the house.
Ds was leaving last night, and saw a young bobcat going across the end of our road. You don't actually see them all that often, even though they are here.
Well, it turns out that this is going to be a busy day after all. I have greens, celery, broccoli, and onions to process, which means washing, chopping, and cooking.
Meanwhile, at some point, the new dog *may* show up. I shouldn't be negative, but I don't think that she's going to fit in immediately. I hope to be wrong. We'll have to keep track of them carefully so that everyone remains calm and safe. I don't want Krypto to be too much of a pest - good luck with that, I know! - don't want the girl to bother the cats, etc. So, we'll have to be watchful at first.
How was your week?
