My dad's mother had diabetes and was quiet and reserved. She taught trust in the Lord. She was strong in her faith. My other grandmother was the one I went to spend weekends with. She was the one that spanked with a butcher knife. We went to her church in West Covina every Sunday. She taught me card games and sewing and cooking. She's the one with the garden of black eyed peas. She taught me to shuck corn, to snap peas and lots of cooking. She was rather stern, but such a good teacher. She also added to my sewing skills. We went to the garment district...that woman could out last me in shopping! She was exhausting! LOL!
Both grandmothers were dear to me, but they didn't have the warmest personalities...but they did teach me a lot.
