Yes, the Queen Mary was nice. Did you eat there? It was the 60's, I think, and I had duck la orange. It was delicious. The 2nd best was made at a hotel with a really nice restaurant called the Azteca, in Mexico. They had beautiful looking pasteries, but well, cream; Mexico, so I didn't have them.
I never saw the Golden Knights, just the Blue Angels, etc. The ones that I did see were very impressive, though, and a little scary, too.
I was just telling this, about the ships, to a woman from Switzerland who emailed me. She's big time into taking short holidays on boats. I guess that there are a lot of waterways between countries in Europe - she just got back from a day in Germany - and since the countries tend to be small, and close together, it makes sense to boat to where you are going.
We discussed boats/ships here, and I was wracking my brain to remember all of the boats and ships I've been on, from dinghy's to battleships, and everything in between. Speed boats, hydrofoils, peddle boats, paddle wheel boats, whatever the one to Catalina was, etc. etc. Interesting timing!
