Answer: Fort Hood, the third-largest U.S. military base, was renamed Fort Cavazos recently to honor a Hispanic American Army leader. Formerly named after Confederate General John Bell Hood, the base is now named after Gen. Richard Edward Cavazos, the first Hispanic American four-star Army general and brigadier general. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. General Cavazos was the recipient of a Silver Star and a Distinguished Service Cross for his actions in Korea, and a second Distinguished Service Cross for an episode in Vietnam.

A little more on golf...
In the early days of golf, clubs were flatter and longer than they are today. They were made of ash or hazel and had a head made of apple, pear, beech, or blackthorn wood.
These days, golf courses are pretty well set on having 18 holes, but until the mid-1800's there was no set length, and the size of golf courses varied.
