Starting today, having given him a week to adjust, we are going to test 2 hrs. after his common foods, and see how he reacts to them. There are some 'rules' with different foods, but everyone does react differently to various foods, especially when you count in exercise, space between meals, and so forth.
We are having to be careful, as he's quick to swing the other way with having stopped some of his foods. The biggie is No ice cream, of course. There is so much sugar in most of them, and while I try to modify food amounts in order to balance my sugar, poor Dh loves ice cream and eats a lot in a serving. So, he has decided that giving it up, at least for now, is easier for him than eating it less often, and in moderation. He may change later on, but for now he just wants to skip it.
I love that the Amy's enchilada's work for you. That's the kind of food that works for me, too, to keep my blood sugar where it needs to be. A good mix of protein and carbs.
The burger and root beer sound great to me! Apparently they cut the fries by hand? If they had a mechanical fry cutter, they would always be the same, one would think?
Do they offer onion rings? That might be a good alternative.
Well, with your instructions, he'll be an ace recycler in no time! I forget that people have to learn those skills. It's been so long that I can't remember when I started learning it!
Excellent on the hand crank washer, but please be careful of your neck. I don't want you to have worse pain.
As for your checks, you may not want to mail them until Wednesday, as tomorrow is a non-pick-up day for mail, being the 4th. I have to make another $88. payment to the post office (p.o. box, it's sooo expensive now, as that's only 1/2 a payment.) and thought about tomorrow, until it occurred to me that it's the 4th. Bank and post office holiday!
I vote for some of the old times, too! Not all, of course, but some, at least! :-)
Today is our anniversary of coming here. As of today, we've been here 35 summers. We usually celebrate somehow, and also my MIA's birthday (That MIA bracelet that I've had over 40 years that's now missing...), but it's just too hot to do much of anything right now.
