We started a new book this week about an evil wizard who takes in/traps a boy who had run away from his abusive uncle.
The boy doesn't want to stay, but he has no choice, and he does like the dogs, cats, and farm animals, plus the food security, even though he's having to cook and do chores.
Meanwhile, there's a rival wizard/shape shifter and his gang who are trying to gain access to the small town that the first evil wizard had set up to be protected, over 200 years ago.
The boy's abusive uncle and cousin end up with the rival wizard/shape shifter. Meanwhile, our original boy is learning wizardry from the evil wizard's book store. Books are appearing to him, and the words come onto the pages as needed. The evil wizard doesn't know about this, as he thinks that the boy can't read.
We're about 1/2 way through it. I have no idea where this book came from, it ended up at the top of the books in my library; out of thin air. Hmmmm. Anyway, it's not bad for it's type.
How was your reading week?
