After more than a decade of trying to get someone to listen to me about my heart, he heard something (No other Dr. did.), and sent me to a cardiologist who, after a simple EKG did a stress test, then sent me for an echocardiogram. Everything confirmed what my Dr. said that he'd heard.
I'm sorry to hear that. Especially being that you've taken your supplements for so long. :-( At least he's referring you to the person that you need to see next with it, but, one thing at a time I guess.
We have had that experience more and more in the past few years...Drs. offices and such not answering their phone. At one time, it never seemed to happen.
When you go for your fasting bloodwork, be sure to have something with you - chocolate, some type of other snack, etc. so that you can partake in it/them as soon as they've drawn the blood.
I don't know if you find the same thing, but I have found that s small bag of potato chips with candy - especially chocolate, work especially well. Unless you have glucose tabs?
Any candy with sugar will do - my mom and I both used to carry Lifesavers in our purses, but chocolate contains cocoa butter, which is helpful. I don't think that you eat it, but chocolate with protein in it (nuts) works even better. Oh, peanut butter cups would be great!
And, again, chips have that added fat, unless they are baked chips.
Or, those little, individual packets of peanut butter and crackers, or cheese and crackers, with some type of small, sweet snack.
You know the drill! :-) I just wanted to remind you to take something, and went overboard!
How did he feel about you saying that you didn't get good service at your previous physician's office?
I believe that you are correct. A change to good Drs. can make all of the difference in the world.
Good luck with all, and please keep us posted!
