Then, we needed an adjustment on the battery.
Anyway, this is not a generator update, but a medical insurance update.
Dh got his ins. reinstated; the same one that he had before. It should have been there all along, according to a supervisor...which helps us not at all. I don't like to feel angry, but when he told Dh that their system is archaic and needs codes punched in by hand, it made me think of a newish saying that I don't use which is, "That sounds like a You problem." Why aren't their people trained to do that?
We were on the phone for hours, literally, each day.
Dh had just been getting sicker, and sicker. Today, he was lying on the couch all day, saying that he felt 'lousy.' When Ds got here, he said that Dh looked terrible. That goodness that everything was reinstated, and Ds was working close enough to home today that he was able to get to the next-town-over pharmacy before they closed. That wouldn't have been possible tomorrow.
I was so relieved to get that medication for him!
As for me, I'm not eligible for my old insurance. Oddly enough, I'm getting set up with a different company and am signing up for the same plan that Ds uses.
It won't kick in until November, but it turns out that my addison med. is not expensive. What an answer to prayer! I cut things tight, but was able to buy it for cash today, while Ds was there.
My heart pills are more expensive, but luckily, I have enough of those to get me through until the insurance kicks on next month.
One funny note is that the guy at the new ins. co. turns out to be the same man that was our guy many years ago when we had a different insurance...and he remembered us after all this time!
I don't love everything about this plan, such as the deductable, and a few of the charges, should they be needed, but if your providers are members, most of the co-pay's are do-able. Non members can cost up to 50% co-pay for visits, expensive tests, etc. But, Ds said that most people in the area...our local hospital, the Drs. that we use, etc. are members.
Unfortunately, our Dr. doesn't take Dh's insurance. But, we will just pay the visits out of pocket to avoid his care being disrupted. The phone visits cost less than the in-person visits. He only goes in-person every 3rd visit. So again, do-able.
So, that's what's going on here. It's a real answer to prayer! Thank you all!
