Well, since you brought up snails and slugs...
We have a very large slug here, as well. The banana slug, which resembles a banana, either pure yellow, or spotted. (Therefore looking like a banana, or over-ripe banana.)
They grow to nearly 10" long, though it's more common to see them an inch or 2 smaller. We did see a very large, pure yellow one this past week in the lamb pasture.
We also saw a different looking, metallic, click beetle. We have gorgeous gem blue and green ones with copper underneath, but this one was copper colored on top.
And, there are our millipedes. In L.A., we had the adorable tiny, round-backed ones. Maybe an inch long. Here, they are still round-backed, but an inch wide, or so, and up to around 8" long. And, tend to come out en masse!
Oh, and we saw a super cute little, tiny, ring-necked lizard this week. :-)
