I got dressed and noticed it was slightly raining. Then it was raining harder so I put my winter coat w/o the lining and opened the front door.
There was a deluge so heavy the retaining wall looked like a waterfall. Well as soon as I opened the door Charlie ran out, ball in mouth to come to an abrupt stop as he ran into the water pouring off the porch roof.
I have never see him hit a stop so fast.
His nose and head were only parts wet. He did a 50 degree turn and raced the 6 feet to the door. I was laughing really hard but almost fell over when he turned his head and looked at me as if to plead for me to let him in.
I opened the door wide enough to grab his towel with which I wiped his face and head off. In the meantime he had maneuvered me to the side of the ajar front door. In s flash he was inside on the couch. Lolol
The rain didn't last long and it was shortly after the sun made an appearance.
I grabbed a bunch of lsrge jugs of well water and lined them up on the porch. I then grabbed his allergen shampoo, blue Dawn dish soap. And a mitt for removing fur.
Once set up I grabbed a leash, snagged him and made it to the porch.
Have I mentioned how much Charlie hates water? Lol.
I am so glad that no matter how much he hates water, Charlie loves me more. With him stand in front of me I upended one of the 5 gal jugs...starting at his tail.
He swiveled a bit then stood still. He us such a good dog. I applied Dawn first and suds him up from one end to the other.
After letting the suds sit, I began to rinse. Head to tail this time. I then applied his med shampoo. I love this dog. Considering how crazed he's been for the first 4 plus years, he was a dream today. I rinsed and walked him over to the small lawn area so he could roll. Eventually we made it back in the house. He's on the foot of my bed as I post. Soft. Clean. And sound asleep. Lolol
Good puppy. 8-)
He's been getting a bath once a week. Doing it on the porch works best for both of us. Now what do I do during cold snaps???? 8-)
