Well, Frankie came over on Sunday with Ds for his birthday ice cream, and a toy. I have toys that are new, that Tango didn't play with, so Frankie can have one whenever he wants.
He doesn't play with toys like some dogs...such as when you throw them, or play tug. He waits until he wants to play, then zooms with the toy du jour, throwing it up in the air. Very rodent-hunting like!
I made the ice cream the night before. First, you put the powder in a bowl, and mix vigorously with warm water, then pour it back into the container and freeze it for 8 hrs.
When we made it, I gave Tango the bowl when I was done with it, and he couldn't stop licking it! Dh tried the powder, and said: Yuck! Apparently to a human, only! It smells like fake vanilla, which is funny, because it's real vanilla. I guess when you mix it with the gelatin...!
Anyway, when I gave Frankie a small spoonful (yes, the other dogs got a spoonful, too.) he did the same thing that he did with the milk. Same thrilled expression.
He actually licked the ice cream until it was gone. He could have used an ice cream cone!
He still goes where his dad goes...at home, and here. So, when I gave him another spoonful before Ds was to put it back into the freezer, he was extremely intent.
So intent, that he didn't notice his dad walking away, to the door, out the door, back in the door, back to where we were sitting! (I was holding the bowl and petting him while he enjoyed the treat. Positive grandma reinforcement!) That was a first!
There's more than 1/2 a carton left, so the next time that he visits, he'll get another spoonful. If I keep this up, he may not want to go home!
So, for anyone curious, the ice cream was a hit with all dogs!
Love All Life, Thank You For Posting! :)
