I also feed him a small teaspoon of pnbutter daily, a raw egg when I have eggs for breakfast and a hard boiled egg when I have one. One a week- two a week occasionally.
He also shares a carrot or an apple daily with Chance. I have started giving him rice - white or brown with some wild - also peas & beans when I have them.
I had him on a few other dry foods from chewy. One was what put weight on him. It was Purina One Smart Balance lamb & rice. It was a moderate high protein.
He's been back on his current pedigree a few months, and looks great. He is healthy and active when he wants to be.
Plus he has always gotten Pedigree Chunk canned food. 1 22oz can of lamb & vegs, or ckn & vegs or beef & vegs, plus all have rice - provide 4 days of wet food for his dinner. He has early breakfast 430 am & lunch 1130 sm of a cup of dry. And his mid morning long w training treats 1 teaspoon of them and 1 small iced tea spoon of jiffy peanut butter. I will change him to dog peanut butter in January.
I totally understand your problems with any grains. I wish you weren't constrained financially. That is another reason I have opted for Pedigree. I can afford it monthly.
My problem is I have to buy his heart worm/flea tick meds bimonthly.
The cats are back on Friskies dry food and canned as well. Kitty was vomiting clear fluid but stopped that. I had them on a small bag of hairball dry feed.
They are now on their old dry and all are doing very well. All 3 had lost some weight but now are gaining back to normal. Their loss was slow as has been their regain.
So I am happy with all results. But it took Boys comments about how all had lost weight months ago that and the alert re gf pet food.
Hopefully starting 2020 with all well critters who are healthy & happy.
Oh everytime I find Mussy I carry her to the cat box. 90% of the time she uses it if I stand there. This has cut back on peeing on the counter and the floor in the laundry room. The lavender water has really helped. I need a new spray bottle for the L water. I'm going through it too fast. Plus I want to spray in my bathroom. It smells so good. It replaces my expensive sprays. Lol.
So you have helped me save money and get back into herbs. Its been a long time and I have started reading my herb & garden mags from front to back. Thanks for that too.
Although I finally no longer have to take back my home. It's all mine once more. 8-)
Love All Life, Thank You For Posting! :)
