Still others give smaller dogs between 50 and 200 mg.
I would probably start with a lower dose to get a feel for how she reacts to it, since all dogs, like people, are individuals. So, say a 10th of your tablet for experimentation purposes.
This is also good because, even if it's not enough for a huge amount of stress, you may find a low dose that will help her when she goes somewhere in the car, is in a training class, or when family visits. Just enough to take the edge off of her anxiety, and have her hopefully grow out of it.
Most of our beagles had no anxiety at all, in fact, they were forward to being good guard dogs. But, our first one, who we got as an adult, was terribly afraid of fireworks. We took her downstairs where it was muffled, and gave her medication for it.
But, I realize now, after this discussion, that we didn't have to do that after the first couple of years. So, hopefully, it will be the same with Missy.
