Kitty is the one that plays the most. So she like a stuffed monkey that was DD's and it is on the floor with her other toys.
I try to keep their toys in the front room/kitchen dining room. It's a big floor area.
So I am often down on my knees looking for those items that under furniture and the armoires and tucked into places that effectively hide things from me.
They have full range of the house. They copt one room then change their mind. Both girls take turns hanging with Soli. So I have to make sure they aren't confiscating anything that is not a toy. Fossils, some of DD's things on her bureau. I have lots of loose items that suddenly appear missing or I find on the floor.
It is a constant battle to keep their paws off my stuff.
Soli loves boxes. So on Chewy days I let the box he keeps climbing into hang out wherever it is.
As for specific toys for each cat... they all mess with what's on the floor.
Which may include pens, bottle caps, and other items from the kitchen.
Now Charlie is a different matter entirely. Being he is a working dog I learned early on with the BAZARS to satisfy his "job" or instincts requirements.
Throwing the ball for him is his best toy. He gets to retrieve it, instead of a dead duck. He runs alot and gets his exercise.
But because he is not retrieving anything dead I have let him ring his ball back to me or drop it in the next spot he has picked out for me to throw it. There are 12 specific spots along out path from which he wants me to throw the ball.
Sometimes he just wants to drop the ball then grab it before my hand gets to it. I have learned tht sometimes I can tell him to back up so I can get it before he grabs it away. Or if he won't then I may put my foot in between his mouth and the ball to block him from grabbing it. Sometimes I play who can grab the ball faster - when he gets it he runs away to the next drop spot. LOL
His balls are his only toy. Unless you count my son. LOL
He also is a very very good jumper and has a long hang time. People love to watch him catch the ball in mid flight.
So I also have a game we play where I sit at the picnic table and he brings his ball to me and I say OUT and he races out into the back yard to catch the ball when I throw it.I've gotten pretty good at distance throwing.
Or I yell UP and he jumps up to catch the ball.
Also if the ball gets stuck in a tree - Charlie has learned to look for it. It's a bright orange ball... he knows when it isn't on the ground and will check the trees near him for it. Often he can't see it.
I go get the rake - he watches to see which tree I am aiming at.. and he has learned to back away from the tree as I often have to toss the rake up to knock the ball out. We make a good team... as soon as it hits the ground he grabs it and is off to the next spot on the path waiting for me to throw it.
We also play Hot & Cold when his ball is on the ground and he can't find it. Sometimes I have to look for it without letting him know where it is.
I then in the meantime he has his nose to the ground and is searching for it. I start calling out HOT or COLD depending on his direction to or away from the ball.
He's gotten real good at this game. And when he finally finds it races for the next spot on the path.
He is so smart... and I hardly use any vocal commands... but I talk to him all the time.
I use hand commands or sounds and he is right on top of what I want him to do.
Amazing dog. Blue and I had the same connection. He had his job and I had mine.... and so do Charlie and I.
Chance has tons of climbing things. I bought him a large Ring and it took him a while to like to sit on it and hangs upside down, etc.
He has a chain with balls and stuff that make noise that he hangs on and make slots of noise. It also has bells on it.
His favorite thing is the cat food box I put in the bottom. He loves to go inside and rip it up and make a mess. I won't say nest cause I am not sure that is what s/he is doing. I say He cause it is easier to type.
There you have it... all the kids toys. Though sometimes they all think I am one of their toys as well.
