The scientific shows sound really great.
That's what we have, a loop track. It's going to feel strange not having any events this year, but we need a break, with a new baby and Ds's extra work taking more time, so it's timely.
Yes, on Disneyland.
Dh and I talk about the cars in L.A., before they got rid of them. The kids, (not me, just saying.) used to put eggs on the tracks, and watch the cars run them over.
Did you ever ride on Angels Flight? I did, but the original, which ran from 1901 to the 1960's. Apparently, they opened one in a new location in modern times, and have had at least one serious accident, when people were injured, and one was killed. :-( I believe that the new one's been closed several times for safety reasons. Maybe they should have left well enough alone.
The original, that I remember, was a narrow gauge, cable rail, and ran 298' on an inclined railway.
Yes, SF. The cables cars :-) and BART.
Your trip from L.A. to S.F. and back sounds great!
I was disappointed when we could no longer hear the trains, because they stopped them here. I loved lying in bed and listening to them in the distance at my grandmother's house growing up, too.
How great that she can hear them. :-)
That's a good thought about websites!
There are many older children's books that have fantastic illustrations involving trains, traveling by train, or just watching them go by.
Thanks for discussing your memories. They sound great, and brought back my own. :-)
Love All Life, Thank You For Posting! :)
