I love the Painted Bunting... it is a rainbow of color and often sits on the feeder with one of the doves. The dove was tipping the feeder so it was hard to get a good shot of the Bunting.
THe same with the small Black bird. It doesn't mind feeding next to a dove either.
I did get some funny photos of the squirrels. One had jumped onto the parrot feeder bar and had tried to climb into one of the cups to get the best seeds. It was my fave squirrel with the bad tail. The tail looks like it is growing out more.
THe other squirrel was sitting at the feeder tied to the tree. I mean to buy some feeders but haven't found any I like that.
ALso the Tufted Titmouse bird has mated and they come together to feed... The male has a black tuft while the female's light gray. I saw the male feeding her for a while... now she is eating on her own.
I hear babies in a couple of spots along my walk. Having the adults fly into the tree are good indications I'm right on my assumptions re nests.
There are not the number of Hummers like I had last year.. but both my neighbors. Up & Down hill have hung Hummer feeders. There are at least 6 or more hummers that eat from the ones I have but only the two pair are daring to come closer every day. I move my chair so it is closer to the bush and then I moved the feeders closer to that end of the porch. It seems to be the females that are the most curious. And daring. THe closest one has gotten is about 6 inches from my face, astounding.
The Chameleons are all over the place. Everyone is complaining about the number this year. I saw one on the chain link fence by the road and put my hand out in front of it. It wa a young one - half the size of the adults I've seen.
The other adventure I had over a week ago was with a Vulture. I was out front and had my camera.. when a single vulture flew just above the roof of my porch. I began taking pictures when it flew back over me a number of times. It wasn't over 30 feet or so.
I got some shots of it various movements as it banked and soared and coasted. I even have a few when it was flapping it's wings to get altitude.
Thing is I didn't really get any that showed how close it was to the tops of the trees or the roof. LOL Oh well.
So now that's it for the bird updates. Do check out the Painted Bunting, It is glorious.
Love All Life, Thank You For Posting! :)
