Night before last Kara called me and she's up north with Randy, but Josh had called her and told her he hadn't been able to find Bonkers but he opened the door to the garage and Bonkers stumbled in and collapsed, covered in cob webs and Bonker's front legs looked injured. Kara wanted me to call the vet first thing in the morning and take Bonkers in. She had taken Bonkers on her birthday because Bonker's breathing was labored. Bonkers got a steroid shot at that time. So Josh and I got Bonkers in, luckily. The vet was slammed, but they squeezed us in. They came and got Bonkers from the car and we waited. Dr. Jensen called me and asked some questions and then asked if Bonkers was a boy or girl. We said girl. He gave us Albuterol to give Boners twice a day and the girls brought Boners back to the car with the medicine. Amanda (his nurse that lives two houses away from me told us that Bonkers was not a girl, but a boy!!! We called Kara and told her and she said that for 7 years they had thought Bonkers was a girl!!! You can't see a penis, but he assured us Bonkers is a boy! Amanda teased that Bonkers had gender identity syndrome..LOL! If she only knew! We had Kara on speaker phone as we drove back to her house and I told her that someone's parenting needed to be called into question Randy's son is gay, his daughter says she's male, Emily changed her gender and name, and now Bonkers!!! We had a good laugh even though a lot of that is really painful.
Anyway, Bonker's is doing much better and we're pretty sure it was just heat stroke.
