Most probably won't make it. Animals will hunt them, people will hunt them :-( , they will go hungry...if not now, in the winter, and starve (some starve in abundance, as they are terrible hunters, or do not have claws, as they were de-clawed pets. My Ananda had her claws, but she was a terrible hunter and was so, so, thin when we found her sitting on our picnic table one rainy day.) succumb to disease, and be hit by cars, as you know.
When someone complains, and has them picked up, they are rarely considered adoptable.
I just feel like, if they can join the 'pack' then they deserve to live as good a life as possible. They can have medication, food, attention, etc.
It's painful to think of how many cats are out on their own. :-(
