....my older hens, now down to 5, are not that old by our usual standards, (going on 7.) I've been surprised to lose the 2 that we have, since being up here.

At first, I blamed the circumstance, the stress on them, like we've all had. But, I don't think that is the case now, unless the stress at the time did damage to them. I don't know, but I am saddened to have lost her. :-( She was one of the ones who would sit on your shoe and look up at you with adoring puppydog eyes.
