They are hunters and are perfectly capable of getting their own "meat."
As my neighbors cat does when she comes over and wipes out a entire nest of baby mice in the walls in my bedroom.
She also has taken over Charlie Dog house. She is bold as brass and has taken to sleeping in it. She only leaves to go to her home when I go out back to feed the birds.
I usually do not take Charlie with me as he has already had his P&P time. Remember he killed two of their cats already and I do try and keep him from killing their last cat.
Talk about a cat with attitude... she saunters even when I try and chase her out of the yard. Something which I have basically given up on.
Sigh!
I won't say she baits Charlie but she makes sure to leave her scent all over. She loves driving him nuts. And me as well when she lingers in the yard and I think she has gone home only to find her sauntering across the back yard just before Charlie does.
He races for her and she races for my compost area when she climbs the fence then a tree to arrive safely on the roof of my neighbors shed. Where she sits giving us the snub as she preens.
Yesterday I gave them a bag of cat food cans along with some cans of tuna that I did not like. Or rather my cats did not like or do well on either. My cats turned their noses up at the tuna as I did also.
I am trying to think of what to feed them for their "meat." Kitty does really well on dry food only. Soli is so healthy it is disgusting, plus he weighs a ton.
I just don't have time for following this path of catering to their needs, nor Chances seed requirements either. Such snobby critters I have. LOL
I am glad yours have decided your new home is a sweet home for them. 8-)
Aren't animals grand? Brats, all of them. At least Charlie shows some respect occasionally. 8-)
