I finally got a 15' stream water bottle, and would squirt him when he ignored me. He didn't necessarily go far, but he left the yard. He learned that he was going to be squirt if we came out, so he began to leave when we opened the back door.
I didn't want to do it, but they weren't safe around our dogs, who loved, in those days, to chase strange felines.
Would a high powered bottle, soaker toy, or garden hose work in your case, do you think?
I just give mine meat or chicken scraps when we have them, and/or the small, wet food treat each day. They aren't as choosey as other cats have been.
Yes, I'm relieved that they know that this is home now. Though, they don't always want to come in. Cats!
Brats, indeed! :-)
