Kitty and Soli both sit at the end of the dining room table next to the window that looks right into the middle of a big Red Tip bush. There are lots of Sparrows that zoom in and out all the time. Also there have been a few nests.
Sometimes they watch together sometimes alone.
Kitty also sits atop the toilet tank in the guest room. It also looks in to a Red Tip but not the middle rather the edge of one of the bushes. This allows Kitty to see the road and glimpse dogs and people and cars but I think she is mostly looking for birds.
Charlie has the library window stacked out for he can stand in front of it and see out with ease. It is a tall window that is only a foot or so off the floor. He rests his head on the sill. When I walk to the mailbox he always watches me and barks until I wave my hand at him. Then he stops barking and goes back to bed or eats or whatever.
His most fave spot is standing on the Loveseat with his front paws on the top of the back. He has a view of the road going up hill. Also the driveway where his arch enemy lives and comes down during the day. This dog walks into my uphill neighbors yard when no one is home and drives Charlie nuts.
His third spot is standing in the seat of the big chair next to Chance's cage. He looks out Chance's window at whomever he spied from the loveseat window to watch the dog, person, etc go down the hill. This gives him a good view of our driveway and the yard uphill where the deer hangout. They love to watch him go bananas. LOL
His last window is another one he can stand and look out of while resting his head on the still. It is in my bedroom and is to the right of my desk looking uphill at my neighbor's home. He can still see his arch enemy's driveway but also the area above the retaining wall and all the deer etc that hang out in that area.
Charlie has the best sense of smell and terrific hearing. He can be sound asleep and smell or hear
dogs, people or odd noises. He is a great watch dog.
But when we are outside playing he rarely if ever barks. He also ignores the dogs behind the wooden fence. But if the down hill neighbor's cat or dog are visible he goes nuts. If he has his ball in his mouth he does this head shaking, body twisting dance. I can call him off but still if he spies them he does it again.
So there are my window watchers. LOL
