They are not the only ones who enjoy the view. I sit at the other end to eat my meals and it is a wonderful close up view of bird life.
Soli has been lying in front of the living room heater. I have it located near Chance's cage... so Chance gets to watch Soli lunging.
I still haven't figured out where Kitty's hideout spots are. The only thing I've noticed is the Armoire doors to the one that faces the dining room table are often ajar.
The weather has been mostly cloudy or overcast most of the time. I am hoping for sun this weekend as it is the first day of Spring. The other day and a few in the past week or so have sent rays of sunlight into my living room and kitchen/dining room areas.
I love sunbeams. And took a few photos for myself. Plus yesterday I took down the Gate Decor that I left up since Fall started. I used as many colorful flowers as I could to brighten the Gate to reflect Springs arrival.
Charlie has slowed down since the weather is warmer in the afternoon. But he now bolts out the door first thing - sans ball. I try to spread birdseed in the driveway and drop some nuts in the squirrels bowl hanging in one of the Cedar trees.
Charlie has now taken to jumping up above the retaining wall and marking in the areas across from where the dogs across the street live. The little one attacked the fence line - Boy took a large tree branch and cut off the bottom of the fence. Once he did that the woman who owns the small dog got the message. Charlie was just beginning to accept the owners border collie - the two of them got to where they would do single barks then turn their backs to each other and walk away. Now that has reverted to Charlie barking at the owners dog when ever he sees it.
Another new action that Charlie developed since the cold snap is - once he is down in the driveway from the cedar tree area... he takes off at full out supersonic speed to check for deer in the back NW corner of the yard. This is still without his ball. I can then usually call him in - even if a bit reluctantly - he knows he will get fed once inside.
After he eats he goes to lie down and rest. LOL but only after he has had all his normal breakfast. Usually he ate his dry food a while before - he then goes back to sleep until the sun is up - then his ball-less outing. Once we come in I start the day officially.
Once I open the windows etc he gets his Peanut butter and Pet-Botonics Kong treat. He and CHance (fed then) share either an apple or a carrot.
Once they have had that Charlie gets a bone or two. By then I am ready to feed the Wildbirds out back. Which means Laps with Charlie with his BALL! lol
Only after everyone wild and pet are fed, trash taken out - I get to have breakfast.
Charlie and I walk three or four times a day. He gets dry food for lunch, and canned for dinner. The cats get dry food for breakfast and dinner.. it is always available for them.
But so far no SPRING IS HERE response from any of them. I did rearrange Chances Cage so he is next to the window that faces down hill. I try to always allow him outside views. Just smaller one during the cold season. Now he gets the entire view to himself. Luckily his cage is 5 feet tall and cast iron so it doesn't shut off the view to me.
As for food grabbing. Charlie may stand just to my back and side if I am working on the veggies for him and CHance. I drop pieces in his mouth. Once I give Chance his portion Charlie goes back to bed to wait for our first walk of the day.
I shook a rug off the front porch and there were some bits of food - not sure what.. anyway Charlie went after them two days in a row. I think Boy & Dgs dropped some food in the kitchen - noting much - crumbs I think. Charlie wil eat what is on the floor but I try to pick up anything I drop asap.
Charlie and I have popcorn in the bedroom. I ready - toss popcorn in my mouth they buttered & salted version - then toss him his B&S-less version.
It's one of our games.
Otherwise there are rare occasions when I do give Charlie a people treat. Veggies usually. I am not big on meat treats.
OOPS! looks like and overcast day. I hadn't noticed the day had started. Charlie is lying patiently as I finish my post. I need to get things going. LOL
Have a good day yourself.
