He lies down by the front or back door and doesn't move until he hears me open the door.
He taught me that. I do not have to stay him ever.
I forgot something and went inside closing the door. I was inside 5 plus minutes. He was still lying there when I came out.
I think we are "attached at the hip."
I also believe he comes from a line dog breeding that raised hunting dogs. So that much of what he does is instinctive. Vet agreed and warned me it would take a few years at least 5 for him to calm down.
What do you think? Oh and when I got him my circumstances were not the best for either of us. Mobil home with mean little dogs allowed to roam. And they hated Charlie. Thats what had him climb the chain link and get one by the scruff of it's neck. Dog was ok.
Finally the dog rules were changed so no dogs allowed off leash or to run free.
Plus there was an amazing dog trainer that trained him for free. Thats when it was discovered he obeyed men. The trainer could walk Charlie across a parking lot at the vets off leash with dogs all over. He would snap his fingers and obey what every hand command he was given. This was just before moving here so he was just about 3.
He still goes ape over Boy who refuses to use my cues for Charlie.
Oh well he's a male and I mean that in a nasty way.
