Father's Day weekend, she is getting a little brother named Aragorn, or Ari for short. Aragorn is a 7 week old blue merle. He is absolutely adorable, too smart (he figured out how to get down the breeder's deck steps and up, as if he has been doing them from the day he was born), and the breeder called him precocious. He is a little blue chunky monkey. He will probably be a tad larger than the standard. Which is good, because the goal is to make him a SD, since Arwen sort of didn't have the personality to handle it.
I posted pictures on FB. What is the best way to post them here. I did try to email pictures to Plum, but I don't think you are getting my emails. I have tried with pictures and without.
In other Arwen news, she now has to be walked in the backyard with a muzzle. We are in the middle of the Brood X cicada 17 yr emergence and the yards (front and pack) are FULL. Arwen has discovered they make an awesome snack. Unfortunately, dogs can't digest the wings and the shells they shed. The shells can tear up the GI tract and cause bleeding. The undigested wings can form a blockage where the stomach empties into the intestines. She can still get cicadas in her mouth, but the muzzle slows her down.
Cats are fine. I know they are tired of Arwen's undivided attention. While I am sure a puppy isn't their idea of fun, hopefully, Arwen will be more interested in playing with Aragorn, and cut the cats some slack.
Love All Life, Thank You For Posting! :)
