But if we are walking - ball free time - and I am weeding and fussy with the yard - he is free ranging the yard and may be standing by the road and watching for people... he now charges the fence but doesn't bark too often. Unless it's a dog.
Good news the realtor for the empty uphill home has asked my neighbor - who lives across from the house - to not allow his dog to run free. The dog(s) and the little one of the wife's? was also using the yard.
So Charlie no longer gets to bark at his mortal enemy. LOL What a lovely quietness that brings to the area... plus my ex neighbors little dog who BARKED ALL THE TIME is gone. HURRAH!
Charlie if he sees a deer races along the fence from the gate to the back fence over and over again. It drives Charlie crazy as the deer stands calmly watching him with disdain! LOLOL
Now if I want to go in he refuses to approach the front door but instead, heads right for the back steps and stands facing the screen door. He is usually in the way as the back porch is narrow. I have to have him back up. Even then he tries to get in the door first. LOL
Charlie is doing well with the heat. Unless it is humid like this morning. Cloudy and 78 but with 90% humidity. It was like walking through a blanket. It has now dried some for the sun - is brighter. Good for hanging laundry. Two loads so far.
Well, that's the Charlie news. He is more stubborn occasionally. He walks off to the back yard with or without his ball. I am never in a hurry so let him get away with it once in a while. If I use my Mother voice he comes back and goes inside.
Ah Cardinal news... the cardinals have discovered the nut jug in the cedar tree and are now raiding it for peanuts. What surprise that was.
Apparently it is now shared by Squirrels, Texas Blue jays and Northern Cardinals - so far only males.
ok off to post on TT and try to catch up.
