As soon as we walked outside the new poodle began to bark. Charlie jumped on the retaining wall, ran towards the fence next to the street, turned around and raced back to me. I was up on the yard as well.
The poodle kept barking and Charlie just stood next to me as J & I talked. Charlie dropped his ball for me to throw, which I did. He took off running brought it back - still no barking from Charlie - some staring the poodle though.
Charlie got lots of praises and Good Boy Charlie's from me. Finally I opted for playing ball and we went on our way! Still no Charlie barking. Boy, was I impressed.
After playing toss, Charlie had enough, so when I asked if he wanted to go in. He walked up the porch stairs and waited for me to open the back door.
I think, Charlie is identifying the ex small dog, with the new small dog. So is not threatened by him. I also think he was lonely when she, the ex small dog,, left
Wow.. pretty cool. Eh?
