Shortly there after I ended up at Edwards AFB with YoYo an Australian shepard. Then a Chihuahua named Princess who birthed Sherlock & Popeye. My mother took them for herself.
We also had a Rattlesnake - My exs. While I rescued a retired Greyhound I named Duke I would drive out into the desert and let him run. The MPs would also race him and he was very fast.
I found him a home with a couple from Montana that owned a ranch. Lots of space for him to run. He was a very loving dog. Except he would walk by the dining room table where I had three BBQ'ed chickens, Duck grabbed one with his mouth then crawled under a rickety end table - which never moved when he did... to enjoy his snack.
After we left EAFB and returned to SCAL we added a Caiman (small alligator) to our family. ALong with DD.
Moving closer to Cal Poly's Vet school we had a large rural yard and added Cleo our milk goat for DDs health. Two Squirrel monkeys our was GiGi and a the other a rescue... which didn't like humans.
Also turkeys, chickens, rabbits, ducks and a pig.
JC was named after my Dr it was a small lovely pinkish white creature that grew to be an indoor pet we slept at the foot of out bed, knocked it's head against the fridge when hungry and the back door to be let out. He was 450 lbs when he died.
We still had YoYo & Princess. But added some pet birds - no names. YoYo died... but princess was mine when we moved back into town. He got the goats. I got the human kids. He got the monkeys.
After Princess passed the kids & I took a break from animals. We ended up with a Pomeranian - can not remember its name.
After that DS went to live with his Dad. I had a Pekinese - again can't remember its name.
I concentrated on working... and had a pet rabbit and some birds - which the cleaning lady sprayed with cleaner and killed. No dogs or cats and BUT Chance the Mexican Double Head Amazon parrot came into my life and is still in it. Chance - named after a Peter Sellers character "Chauncey Gardiner" in the movie "Being There! The best of his flicks.
Leroy a SPCA rescue - I worked there - was for DD & DS, Unfortunately he was a black lab but died from an illness common to dogs at pounds.
After that I got Tasha my favorite Black lab. She flew to BOR with Tinkerbelle DD's cat. Tasha was run down by two Hunters in their truck on purpose. I witnessed the whole thing.
Tinkerbelle made it to 30 plus years and died in MN
A few years later I ended up getting married to a horse - Babe was step one in my move to Texas. And there I added the following creatures:
Babe the mustang mix, Rosie a Hereford cow who birthed: Iris, her only girl, Mooney - born on the full moon and white, Midnight born at midnight and black, and 2 more bulls I can't recall.
Rosie grew up from 3 weeks of age with Babe as her mother. They were a pair and never separated.
We also ended up with lots of chickens and a Rooster called the Brigadier. He made war on me daily.
I had 4 ducks that roamed the ranch and were loved by all the neighbors.
After Tasha died I found a small puppy in my driveway at night - when I picked it up my right fingers slipped into a long slice in his skin.
This was BLUE - one of a litter that a neighbor dropped puppies off at a number of driveways.
Shortly thereafter I was in town 30 miles away and running down the middle of a main drag was a tiny dog. This became Mint Julip. She was run down by the same hunters that killed Tasha.
It took a year before the brother & sister: Miz Zeke, a Chow Shepard mix and Brandy "Alex"ander a
Chow Golden Retriever were dropped off by one of my neighbors. They had followed her car from a ranch closer to town - 20 miles to her place.
The next BOR dog was Sammy a big Black Lab who decided he was going to live at our place. His owners let him decide where he wanted to live. Then I rescued in Austin - after a phone call from a friend of the owners - Austin Beaukiss the registered Brown Lab. He weighed 120 lbs and I put him on a diet right away. His head was perfectly round and bigger then a Basketball.
The last dog was Kavaler "Ween or Weenie" I found him running down the middle of a highway - RURAL so lots of farm trucks - My Drs office spotted him a few days before so when I went for an appointment they pointed him out. Running down the middle of road. When I left I drove slowly up to him. opened my door and picked him up. DS named him as he was back from Germany. But he was the smallest of the "BAZARSW" -
Sadly, Sammy was run down by a car as he and DH- at the time- were running on the road. It was on a hilly curve... the guy stopped and swore Sammy jumped in front of his car as he was going to hit DH. Talk about a tragedy.
All my BAZARSW' lived to be 17 years old but for Alex who had seizures and died in TN at Boys home.
I added Charlie before Ween and then Zeke died both also 17 years old - 6 months apart.
Charlie is the latest of the BAZARSWC's. He got to know Ween & MizZeke. He picked his own name, "Charlie" because it was the only name he responded to. It also happens to mean "Free Man"
And is considered one of the friendliest names and is used by both Boys & Girls. He is my little man. LOL I also call him Charlie Brown occasionally for he reminds me of the Character.
The only names I haven't listed yet are Cats.
Blackie, Rugger Rug Rat Missy, Soli, Kitty, Cowkitty, Wallace, so many more. Lots & Lots more.
They are written down but I couldn't find that diary, Probably in MN.
So there is at least 1 3 names cat, a few 2 names cat & dogs, But most at 1 named.
Love All Life, Thank You For Posting! :)
