I was a bit taken back by the instructor's bluntness when comparing the 2. But, I have thought similar thoughts recently. I know Aragorn is smart. I also know that right now, he isn't in his best training brain because he is in those terrible 2s, while at the same time, he is a teenager that is saying "talk to the hand" when you tell him to do something. Whereas, Arwen is 2 years older. So there is maturity there, on top of being scary smart. Watching them in class while the instructor was droning on, Aragorn was everywhere. Looking around, laying down, trying to visit the dog on the other side of Belinda, worrying about my and Belinda's treat bags, etc. Arwen sat (or stood), alert and attentive on Belinda, waiting for whatever was going to happen.
Yes, I do hope he will use her as an example. He already does do some of the monkey sees, monkey does, but so does she. She has become more confident in approaching people that enter my home, because he has no qualms about going up to visitors and wanting attention. She sees him getting the attention, and decides if he is ok with them, she will be too Josiah learned from PJ. Arwen learned from Misty. Aragorn learned some of his basic skills from Arwen. I think it will continue.
Classes are on Mondays for 8 weeks. I will try to share on Monday evening or ssometime on Tuesday.
