We just gave Krypto an antler for the first time yesterday. Most of mine, leftover from Tango, are solid, but this one is split lengthwise, so there's a center, kind of like bone marrow.
He wanted to chew it on Dh's chair, but Dh was not keen on that, so we put it in his crate. We've had to do that a couple of times.
Since then, he does chew it in there, but if someone's in the kitchen he takes it in there. He likes to throw it, and listen to it hit the hard floor *rolling eyes* for some unknown reason. That's the only reason I haven't shut the crate door when he's chewing it, because I did think about it.
Most chews are made of manmade materials, and he can chew them in the chair. He runs around with them, gets on the chair, runs some more etc. So, I guess that it was logical that he thought that an antler was the same.
Love All Life, Thank You For Posting! :)
