While I have always used bottles of liquid cod liver oil and E, I do keep a bottle of soft capsules...filled with liquid...for periodic use, such as if a cat gets a problem with their eyes, etc. (certain infections tend to present themselves as runny eyes in cats, and vitamin E can often clear it up.)
A cat isn't going to swallow one, and often I have to give them a quarter or half anyway. So, I keep a safety pin with them, and put a hole in one. Then, just squeeze out however much I want them to have. Either in a small amount of food, if they like it, or onto the top of their paw if they hesitate, because they will clean their paw and get it - which is a cat thing.
So, squeezing it out onto Alfred's food is a thought, if you don't want to waste the other ones at a later date.
Yes, it will be interesting how he does on the new food.
