Shelties do have a flaw in their breed. They are EXTREMELY food driven. Works great for training, not so well for being trustworthy around food and drinks. I do my best to not leave anything they aren't suppose to have, where they can grab it. I eat most of my meals either sitting in my chair, or on the bed. I have to take the dogs' steps away from the bed, and if I need to leave my food, it goes in the center of the bed. In the kitchen, I have to push things back on the counters. Arwen can use her nose to knock things off if they are too close or just over the edge (Like a plate edge). Aragorn's bigger size, allows him to see over the edge of the counters and he can grab things he thinks look interesting. Makes it difficult when the momma has 8" and 12" arms.

I pretty much only use tumblers and mugs with lids. Josiah got me in that habit. My night stands were lower than the bed, and he would help himself to whatever I was drinking: sweet tea, unsweet tea, water, hot tea, milk, fruit punch, orange juice.... The list goes on. When he and PJ got into Samantha's Excedrin, one of the meds they had to be given, had to be mixed into diet Coke. The pharmacist apologized and said she knew that would be a problem. I laughed and said, nope, not at all.

I do share bits and tastes of a lot of fruits and veggies. At first, Aragorn would timidly take the offered produce and play with it. Now, he is right there looking for his tastes like Arwen
