Now the only insects are mites, etc. Anywhere there was humidity the insects reigned. Falling asleep to the buzzing and humming of tons of bugs was part of camping or sleeping out on my grandparents porches. Loved it.

Birds are disappearing and this year I saw only one huge flock or either Snow Geese or storks. While when I first moved here I saw many flocks flying over head as they always did over-nights in the local lake. Which only has 20% left.

Because of so many types here, especially the small birds - they are the reason why I feed year round. I am hoping some of the rarer ones return this summer.

I saw in the news the other day that more and more lakes are totally dry. Not a good thing for any of us animals!
