To be fair, they played in the yard when we were not home. So, their mischief may have been different. They liked to chew on some dried up, velvety leaves from a tree that we had. They were twice as big as your hand, and hard as a rock once dried.
So, by the time that we got home and let them in, they were happy to see us, and get on my bed. They followed me wherever I went, or just napped as I read or did schoolwork. After many belly rubs, of course!
On the other hand, one of mine messed with a rattlesnake that fell into our yard and got bitten, and another one cornered a skunk that somehow got in, and got sprayed. That was near the sliding glass door to by bedroom. Horrible! And then there was the time that the gate wasn't closed correctly and one chased a rabbit down the street to the house of the little boy whose pet it was. So, while they were actually very good dogs, they did periodically get themselves into trouble!
