My Dads animal interactions were always with Lamas. They would follow Dad around for however long we were there.

They never spit at him instead they would rest their heads on his shoulder.

We always thought his height was what they liked. He was at eye level with them as he was 6'4". And that was really their eye level. People loved watching them follow him around the zoo.
