I used to hate running out of seed. It's nerve wracking. I always had extra, but once in a while it wasn't available suddenly, for longer than my extra supply would last.
My parrots loved their sunflower seeds the best, too. I used to get the black oil version.
But, they did have other foods, like peanut butter sandwiches, rice and beans, etc. But, the newest birds, from rescue or from holding facilities, didn't know about things like sandwiches, etc. So, I would start them off with sunflower seeds and fruit. Sometimes one would surprise me. Like Marco (Polo). He was only eating fruit in his early days. Then, one day, he climbed down off of his perch behind me, pigeon-toe walked up, got on my shoulder (I barely breathed.), and leaned waaaaay in to my spoon. I was eating a bowl of vegetable soup.
It wasn't hot, so I sacrificed my lunch, and held my spoon still while he ate from it. He liked it! It wasn't long before he was eating like the others.
He'd been mistreated, and until then, was a bit wild, though I could tell that he wanted to interact. He was one of my very favorites.
Of course, none of that helped my seed eaters, like the canaries, budgies, etc.
I hope that your order arrived!
