Moldy?! Argh! I am glad that you found something else!
Yes, buying more that usual, or having the items be more expensive than usual, is a hit to the budget. But, if you can go a bit longer than before, that might help.
I have Krypto's food on autoship, and I try to buy more than one at a time. It prevents my paying shipping, and the need for monthly purchases.
If I have enough, I try to buy extra, then not worry for a couple of months.
When I need less of something, I'll see if I can get a bag of cat food with a bag of dog food, or see if Ds needs anything. I hate to pay the shipping.
In the past year, I've increased my cats by 2. First, there was finding Henry. And now, there's the stray that is eating out on the outdoor kitchen.
This morning, he/she was waiting from a distance for food in the bowl. I don't want food out after dark, so we have to put it out in the morning.
So, this means buying more dry food than before. It's a balancing act.
Well, I'm glad that you've figured out which products are going to work for you, and hope that it works out in all ways for you, and the critters!
