The cats eat most of their meals in the house, but they have been eating their dry food on the outside kitchen since summer began. We don't put any out close to dark, giving them some, instead, in the morning, once it's fully light.
This morning, we went to put out some food, and there was the new cat up here, and waiting for breakfast! He/she stayed across the yard, but was obviously determined to be here for the meal.
I'm going to add another bowl next to the kitchen door, so that everyone can eat at once.
I may not be correct about this, but while I think that he has been on his own a little while, I also think that he grew up in a house with people before being abandoned. If that's true, then he might come into the house one of these days.
His fur is not as thrifty as it should be, and one of his eyes is running a little.
I will start by adding vitamin E to all of the cats' food, so that the new guy gets some. My cats get it on a schedule anyway.
Then, I will add wormer to his food, just in case.
He looked orange and white, semi-long furred. However, he looks more like orange and cream to me now. It will be easier to tell, once he comes closer.
We've had to correct Krypto the past couple of days, as he can tell that this is a different cat, and thinks that it's his job to alert us to his presence. He's getting better, but he still sees him as an interloper.
The first thing that I want to know is gender, and if he/she is fixed. I don't know how long that will take, but it's always my goal with a new stray.
