We didn't know that Mamou was a boy for sure until he was tamed a little. As it turns out, he was already neutered.
Here's the lay of the land...
On our north, it goes straight up with a highway and no homes on the other side, down below.
On our south, there are hills and then a permanent creek that you'd have to swim to get across.
On our west, there are hills. There are a few neighbors on that side.
On our east, there is forest, and eventually, the highway. That is the way that people come by, and drop cats. They don't come in as far as our property, they just come into a turnout where the hwy meets the end of the road. Then they toss them out. If we are lucky, they come in far enough to get to our place, or we see them in the forest or in the fields when we go out of the road.
People, for some reason, think that cats can be let out into forests or fields, and be fine. Some people don't care if they will be fine, or not. :-(
